This is the fourth marker on the Riverside park walk.

EVERY MOVEMENT MATTERS

If you have clicked on to this site, you have walked around 2880 paces from the start and finished this Active Park walk.

Why not walk back to the beginning? Do both ways every week for a year and you would walk over 170 miles and use nearly 15000 calories!

*Based on 1 step = 1 yard and the average person uses 1 calorie for every 20 steps

ABOUT THE RIVERSIDE WALK

Since cutting and clearing the grass land twice a year as you would a hay meadow, this has created better conditions for wildflowers such as the Snakeshead fritillaries and wildlife.

HEALTH NEWS

Creating an Active Summertime

It is easy to forget to drink plenty of water during the hot weather, but it is important to keep well hydrated.

Drinking sufficient water helps regulate body temperature, maintains cell nourishment and organ function.

And it can improve sleep quality during the hot weather.

SMALL STEPS, BIG GAINS OVER TIME

There are a total of nine Local Park Walks. There are four in Aylesbury and 5 in Wycombe.

The shortest of the nine Local Park Walks is just 240 steps. It will take 5 or 6 minutes to complete.

Now let’s suppose you were able to walk this distance every day for a year and each step is a yard. In a single year you would walk nearly 50 miles a year!

If you don’t fancy a walk, then stand more. Standing 3 hours a day of a working week that you would normally sit down and you could burn over 10 marathon’s worth of calories!
