Haydon Hill Walk Post 3

This is the Third marker on the Haydon Hill park walk.

EVERY MOVEMENT MATTERS

If you have clicked on to this site, you have walked around 780 steps from the start. If you walked that same number of steps every week for a year, you would walk nearly 162 miles and use over 14000 calories.*

Why not try to get to the next marker?

*Based on 1 step = 1 yard, and an average person uses 1 calorie per 20 steps

ABOUT THE HAYDON HILL PARK WALK

The earliest reference of a property in Haydon Hill is in the Domesday Book of 1315 referring to Heydone Mill (part of what is now the Manor of Hartwell in Stone).

HEALTH NEWS

At the same time, it is important to remember to protect yourself.

Children and adults should wear proper sun protection, especially when the sun is at its strongest between 11am and 3pm. Spend a little more time in the shade during these times and check for burning.

Use at least factor 30 sunscreen.

SMALL STEPS, EVEN BIGGER GAINS TOGETHER

The numbers get really amazing if we are all active together!

If just 250 residents walked 500 steps every day of a year, their combined walk would take you around the world.

And if 100 residents walked just 204 steps once a week for a year, their combined walk would get them from Lands End to John O’Groats.

Or if a family of four walked just 370 paces in total for each day of the year, they would go through the Eurotunnel to France and back again 10 times!
