We offer FREE, 1 hour ‘Introduction to Making Every Contact Count (MECC)’ training here at Buckinghamshire Council.
The training is available to anyone working or volunteering in Buckinghamshire in the volunteer and community sector, council and health care partners.
MECC is for everyone!
MECC training is for any organisation and/or individual who has contact with the public.
MECC means providing their staff with the leadership, environment, training and information that they need to deliver the MECC approach.
MECC means having the competence and confidence to deliver healthy lifestyle messages, to help encourage people to change their behaviour and to direct them to local services that can support them.
MECC means seeking support and taking action to improve their own lifestyle by eating well, maintaining a healthy weight, drinking alcohol sensibly, exercising regularly, not smoking and looking after their wellbeing and mental health.
It has been delivered to a range of workforces already, including:
The interactive training is delivered online. Each session is unique, as it will involve participants’ own experiences and beliefs which prompt discussion and reflection, allowing for practical skills to be used immediately in conversations following the session.
There are monthly sessions scheduled, take a look and book on to the most convenient date & time here: Introduction to MECC Course Tickets, Multiple Dates | Eventbrite (opens in a new window)
There might be instances where having a bespoke session delivered might be of interest to incorporate MECC within an organisation/team.
Free, tailored sessions can be arranged for your organisation.
