Want to look after your health?

If you're aged 40 to 74, without a pre-existing condition, you may be eligible for a free NHS Health Check.

It's a great way to check your health and get personalised advice on keeping yourself healthy and active. Think of it as your health MOT.

As we get older, we have a higher risk of high blood pressure, heart disease or type 2 diabetes. Your NHS Health Check can spot the early signs of these and help prevent them.

It's designed to spot early signs of

  • Stroke
  • Kidney disease
  • Heart disease
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Dementia

If you're in the right age group, you should expect to receive a letter from your GP inviting you for a free NHS Health Check every five years.

If you are not registered with a GP you can still get a free health check by booking with our community service at a Buckinghamshire location near you.
