Want to look after your health?

Covid-19 and Health Checks

Having a free NHS Health Check is an easy way to spot the early warning signs of conditions such as diabetes or heart disease. We know that having some of these conditions can increase your risk of poor outcomes if you contract Covid-19. So now is an important time to look after your health.

Speak to your GP to see if you can get a NHS Health Check. If you're not registered with a GP, visit Be Healthy Bucks.

If you're aged between 40 to 74 years old, without a pre-existing condition, you may be eligible for a free NHS Health Check

It's a great way to check your health and get personalised advice on keeping yourself healthy and active. Think of it as your health MOT.

As we get older, we have a higher risk of high blood pressure, heart disease or type 2 diabetes. Your NHS Health Check can spot the early warning signs of these and help prevent them.

It's designed to spot early signs of:

  • Stroke
  • Kidney disease
  • Heart disease
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Dementia

If you're in the right age group, you should expect to receive a letter from your GP inviting you for a free NHS Health Check every five years.

If you are not registered with a GP you can still get a free health check by registering with Be Healthy Bucks to book a check in the community. Eligibility criteria apply.
