Get a Free NHS Health Check

The NHS Health Check is a free check-up of your overall health. It can tell whether you’re a higher risk of getting certain health problems such as:

  • Heart Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Kidney Disease
  • Stroke

During the check-up you’ll also discuss how to reduce your risk of these conditions and dementia. If you’re over 65, you’ll also be told the signs of dementia to look out for.

As we get older, we have a higher risk of high blood pressure, heart disease or type 2 diabetes. Your NHS Health Check can spot the early warning signs of these and help prevent them. Some ethnic groups are at higher risk than others.

Where can I find my local health check?

You can receive an NHS Health Check at your GP practice. You can also register with Be Healthy Bucks to book an NHS Health Check in the community. Check Eligibility criteria here.
