Personal budgets

Personal budgets are one of the ways that the Council puts you in control of your own social care and support. Once you have been assessed as eligible for care and we have worked with you to produce your care plan, you will then be designated a personal budget if the Council is meeting all or some of the cost of your care.

The personal budget allows you to make your own decisions on exactly what care and support you are to receive, and who is to provide it.

What information can I find here?

  • When you are eligible for care
  • What a needs assessment involves
  • How a personal budget is worked out
  • Who will pay for my care?
