What the charges are
Care home services are provided when you are no longer able to remain independent in your own home. They are also known as residential social care.
If you are assessed as needing to go into a care home, a financial assessment will then take place to find out whether you can afford to pay some or all of the cost of your care.
Your ability to pay is determined by national policy, and is not dependent on where in England you live.
